Imagine not getting your textbook on the first day of school or not being able to read the latest best-seller when everybody is talking about it. You can help equalize the access to printed material for all people by donating to Bookshare™.
Bookshare makes it possible for people with print disabilities to read the newspaper the same day it hits the newsstand or a best-selling book as soon as it is released. For students, Bookshare makes it possible to get textbooks on the first day of school. We believe every student should have the same access to books and that a lack of books should not prevent students from succeeding in school.
You can help by:
Bookshare welcomes donations at any level. Your contribution, no matter how large or small, will help achieve the vision of breaking down barriers to the world of reading for people with print disabilities. The Bookshare staff will be happy to work with you to design the right gift to match your interests, timing and charitable giving strategy.
Bookshare has been built by Volunteers who share their love of books with the community of people with print disabilities. A large proportion of Bookshare Volunteers are people with disabilities themselves, working hand in hand to ensure equal access.
