One part of the mystery, involves Nancy helping her friend Emily Crandell find out who stole Emily's inherited jewels. This theft escalates the havoc in the Inn. In the end, Nancy, through detailed detective work, discovers the identity of the jewel thief. Because of this discovery, the other elements of the plot are resolved. This book is suitable for both children and adolescents. Adults who work with these readers can become fascinated by its story as well.
