The main characters are Henry, Violet, Clay, Benny and their Grandfather. They are all trying to figure out why the bees stopped making honey. One of the clues they discovered is that someone sprayed menadrine on the wildflowers, which stopped the bees from making honey. Benny saw a man by the wildflowers and when they yelled at him he ran away. All the kids chased after the man, but he disappeared. The kids thought it was Mr. Hennessey the neighbor. But later the man showed up again and he had another man with him. Neither of them was Mr. Hennessey. The kids hide in the shed, until it was clear then they ran out and got away. Later they were eating in the diner and they overheard two men talking about Menadrine. They found out one of the men was the owner of a factory that makes Menadrine. Then they tricked the man who owned the factory into admitting he had put menadrine on their wildflowers so he had the only honey people could buy. My favorite part is that they solved the mystery.
