- Synopsis
- This incredibly nuanced, beautifully written novel treats moral dilemma with the riveting, character-driven plot of a Jane Hamilton or a Jodi Picoult. This novel looks at one incident and how it changes everything for Leigh, the mother of a pretty, popular high school senior, and their entire family. It's a novel about mothers, daughters, sisters, and female friends, and the ripple effect that an accident has upon all of these people. Like so many great novels, it makes readers ask the question, What would I do if this happened to me?

The Rest of Her Life is an extremely well-written novel. It captivates the reader from beginning to end. I personally could not put it down. The author describes the setting with brilliant imagery, making the reader feel as though they were on the scene. The family connections in the book are brilliant and realistic. One character in this novel is not stronger than another. The point of the book is to show how a whole family works together. Leigh, her husband Gary, her daughter Kara, and her son Justin, learn to work together as a family. I would recommend this book to literally anybody. It does not have inappropriate scenes, so younger and older readers would both enjoy it. I think it would be especially beneficial to people in a family situation. The novel has a lot to teach a person about parent-child relationships.
