Dean Koontz dazzles. In this conclusion of his Frankenstein trilogy Victor Frankenstein has high hopes for the future. Despite several of his creations losing whole chunks of their programing he refuses to believe that he has failed. Deucalion, Victor's first crude creation who has joined forces with two police detectives, fights alongside humanity. Joined by a powerful yet mysterious being, Deucalian, along with several of his own kind finally kills Victor - only to have a copy rise and take his place. Is this a start of an eror of peace or a darker nightmare?
