This beloved classic picture book begins: "In the great green room
There was a telephone
And a red balloon
..." What makes this a doubly enjoyable book is that each picture is described in detail: "[full-page illustration: a bunny rabbit in a red bed, lying on his back, head and shoulders on the pillow, under green blanket, with triangular folded peach-colored blanket at foot of bed. A red balloon is floating on the ceiling. To the left of his bed is a small dresser on which is a clock and a black telephone. To the right of his bed is a table on which sets a lighted lamp; a bowl of mush with a spoon in it; a comb and a brush. On the wall above Bunny's bed is a framed picture of 3 bears sitting in chairs. On the wall to Bunny's right is a window with the striped curtain pulled back. Through the window one can see a dark night with bright stars. Beside the window is a fireplace with a lit fire. On the fireplace mantel is another clock, and on the wall above the fireplace is a framed picture of a cow jumping over the moon. A pair of slippers is on the floor beside the bed. There is an oval rug on the floor at the foot of the bed and a tiger-skin rug on the floor at the side of the bed.]" A charming book. A wonderful story with which to end the day. All images described.
