State of White Supremacy
- Synopsis
-
This collection of essays, intended for those studying sociology and race relations, investigates the racial inequalities that have long been part of United States society and government. A central focus of the text is the presence of a state-imbedded white supremacy within American public schools, employment, human services, and prisons. Contributors (academics from US universities) examine the imperialist nature of the United States and how it relates to the deep rooted racial inequalities still present today. The editors are Jung (sociology and Asian American studies, U. of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign), (Vargas, Black Diaspora studies, U. of Texas, Austin) and Bonilla-Silva (sociology, Duke U. ).
