Imagine life changing in one second! No electricity, and no working electronics. One Second After by William R. Forstchen details what life is like in a small North Carolina town when this happens. The implications are beyond unthinkable. And, though this book is fiction, it could turn out to be a foretelling of things to come. I will think about the ramifications discussed in this book for years to come. It is a haunting read, and one I wish was required reading for everyone running for political office at every level. Complacency cannot benefit a society.
