- Synopsis
- While on a visit with her mother to Cairn, Maine, Rachel Winston met Silas Snowden. Rachel had grown up on a farm in Owens Valley, the daughter of loving parents in a large loving family. Silas Snowden had grown up an orphan who had early gone to sea aboard sailing ships. When they met they fell in love and were soon married. This is the story of the life they made together: the tragedies and triumphs of 19th century life from the heyday of sailing ships to the mayday of commerce aboard sailing vessels. A great story for young and old.
