- Synopsis
- In Bone Dance, as in Finder and her other fantasies about the Borderland, Emma Bull probes into the psychological preoccupation's of youth--their use of drugs, their need for identity, and their desire for individuality. Bone Dance is written in the first person. Sparrow, a smart teen age survivor of the mirky underground world of dealers and hustlers, consults a tarot card reader to try to recover memories lost in mysterious drug experiences. This conflicted youth then embarks on a quest to achieve control,, meaning, and purpose in his, or maybe her, life. Emma Bull writes in a racy colloquial style and fills her work with complicated insights, clever literary allusions, and expressive poetic flights.
