- Synopsis
- Emma is tired of sharing her bedroom with her bratty younger sister. She's tired of living in a hot, cramped city apartment. She longs for a house with a room all her own. Then her parents announce there's a new baby on the way. Moving to the house of her dreams would cost too much money. As the oldest child, Emma is supposed to understand--and to be mother's helper. How can she, when she feels that nothing goes her way? Barbara Baker's novel conveys the pain of Emma's disappointment and her satisfaction in overcoming it in her own special way.
