"The Good Children" is a novel for those who prefer the lighter suspense/thriller. It is written in good taste without mountains of strong language, violence, and sex. The story-line is fairly straight forward; four children who lose their parents and struggle to stay together and keep their secrets from the authorities. Unfortunately, the plot does not flow very smoothly and is somewhat disjointed. It is not the type of novel to keep you on the edge of your seat like James Patterson or Robin Cook, however, it will not scare you out of your wits like those authors either. Sometimes a person would just like to read about the "all American family" with a twist and perhaps a dark secret or two added for good measure. This is the ideal book for those people.
