- Synopsis
- Pat and his friend Roddy live on the small remote island of Inishgillan off the Galway coast. No doctor will agree to live on the island, something that upsets the inhabitants greatly. One stormy January evening, The Coriander, a South American ship bound for Bristol, is wrecked on the perilous coast of Inishgillan. Pat and Roddy rescue one of the passengers from drowning and when they realise that he is a doctor they hide him away and decide to keep him on the island. Eventually all the islanders enter into the conspiracy and the doctor is brought against his will to live in Pat's house. But how long can they keep him? In a situation full of drama and suspense, this book provides a fascinating insight into the minds and motives of young and old alike.
