If you ever wondered how the haressable merk captain Kerowyn ended up being a Herrald of Valdemar this is the book to read.<p> It is in three parts starting with her as a girl surviving a sneak attack and following her warrior training and moving on to her going out into the world in a mercinary company to leading that company to fight for Valdemar and landing right in the middle of things when she is chosen. Its a fabulous story with heart ache and excitment and enough good earthy sex to keep you going. You won't wonder about her again after you read this book.
