- Synopsis
- For Chicago cop Suze Figueroa, home is a sanctuary, a quiet refuge from the crime, corruption, and tragedy she encounters every day on the job...or so she believes. The truth is far more terrifying. A stranger has moved into her house: an intruder who waits in the attic by day and prowls her home at night, spying on both the unsuspecting adults and the defenseless children. Strips of yellow tape may keep curious bystanders away from crimes scenes, but nothing so simple can protect Suze and her family from the man who has invaded the safety of their home. Barbara D'Amato writes mysteries set mainly in Chicago packed with solid, fascinating information about the workings of law enforcement and topics around which her books are written like the Christmas tree industry, The Wizard of Oz and its author and the running of large grocery stores. As she is also a comedian, her writing includes short and longer passages of high, unforgettable humor. The Bookshare library contains a dozen books by Barbara D'Amato with more on the way.
