Lem Firestorm is a normal boy facing normal bullys when his unexpected gift arrives full blown and out of control. Only after tragity is he chosen by a companion who can help him control this awsome gift. A gift that is much needed as war comes to Valdemar. Still boy more then grown man he must go into battle with the few he trusts and one he loves more then life. This bond will both anchor and aid him and in the end cost him more then anyone can forsee. This has to be one of the most heart wrenching storys this author has written for the series. I know it will linger in my memory for a long time because it so clearly shows the line between good and evil is not so easy to see or stay behind. Even someone who reads as much as I do will remember the characters in this book for a long long time.
