Here return the characters last seen in No Lesser Plea - DA Butch Karp and Marlene Ciampi for a 5th tale.
The two are now married and Marlene is carrying their first child. They become unofficially involved in a high profile murder case of a shooting of a famous basketball player. A vast amount of cocaine is located in the star's glove compartment of his car.
The two of them set to resolve the case, and delve into matters which not even the police would touch - they find themselves in contact with Mafia hit man and loan sharks as well as a political corruption scheme.
