I read this book the first time when I was in fourth grade, and as much as I loved it then, I think that reading it again as a college student, I gained an even deeper appreciation of this remarkable inspiring story. Despite seeing her parents killed, and being held by a brutal king to be used as a ritual sacrifice, experiences no child should have to endure, when she was rescued, it wasn't long before she became a happy child who loved England and was eager to learn. Despite the racism of that time, the queen believed in this child, and treated her the same as the royal children. Everyone should read this inspiring story.
