Jeff dreads the return of his brother Troy who has been locked away in jail for the past five and a half years. While his parents receive Troy with open arms when he is released, Jeff still distrusts and even fears his brother. Jeff and his parents had moved from Buffalo to New Jersey in an attempt to leave the pain behind. But Troy's homecoming shatters the family's peace. In fact, Troy's homecoming sets off a chain reaction that once again leaves, not just his own, but another family shattered. Jeff goes and confronts his brother on his boat and shoots him. Troy regains the gun and is about to shoot Jeff when he changes his mind and lets him go.
