How do I read Bookshare books with Read&Write Gold?

Before opening Read&Write Gold, download a book from our website in DAISY format:

1. Open your web browser and log in to your Bookshare account.
2. Locate a book to download.
3. Download the book in DAISY text or DAISY with Images format. 
4. Unzip the compressed book folder. For more information on extracting our books, please see: How do I unzip or extract Bookshare books.  

Once the book is unzipped you can open it with Read&Write Gold's DAISY Reader.

On a PC:

1. Select the DAISY Reader icon (a flower icon) from the Read&Write Gold toolbar. If you do not see a DAISY Reader icon, select the More Options button (a downward facing arrow) on the far right side of the toolbar.
2. In the browse window, select the book folder you downloaded earlier.
3. Select the Ok button.
4. Select the Play button on the Read&Write Gold toolbar to start the Text to Speech.
5. Select the Table of Contents on the left side of the book window to move to a different section of the book.
6. Use the Book Navigation buttons in the bottom right corner of the book window to navigate page by page.

On a Mac:

1. Select the DAISY Reader icon (a flower icon) from the Read&Write Gold toolbar. If you do not see a DAISY Reader icon, select the Mode menu from the top of the screen and choose Reading.
2. In the browse window, select the book folder you downloaded earlier.
3. Select the Open button.
4. Select the Play button on the Read&Write Gold toolbar to start the Text to Speech.
5. Select the Table of Contents button on the top left corner of the book window to choose a different section within the book.
6. Use the Book Navigation buttons in the top left corner of the book window to navigate page by page.
