I am a Sponsor, and I shared my Reading List with my students. Why can they not log in and see the Reading List?
If your student is having trouble finding the Reading List you created for them, please log in to your Bookshare account and verify a few settings on the Reading List.
Assigned Members
Only members of the Reading List can view the list in their account. To make sure a Reading List is shared with your student:
- Log in to your Sponsor account.
- Select the My Bookshare link in the top right corner of the page.
- Select the My Reading Lists link on the left side of the page.
- Select the name of the Reading List to open it.
- Under the title and status of your Reading List, select the Assigned Members link.
- If your student is not listed as a member of the Reading List, select the Add Members button to add them.
Sharing
There are three kinds of sharing settings for a Reading List:
- Private - only the creator of the Reading List has access
- Member - the Sponsor that created the list and any assigned members have access
- Org - the Sponsor that created the list, assigned members, and other Sponsors on the account have access
Be sure to set your sharing setting to Member or Org to make sure your students have access to the Reading List. To change your sharing settings:
- Log in to your Sponsor account.
- Select the My Bookshare link in the top right corner of the page.
- Select the My Reading Lists link on the left side of the page.
- Select the name of your Reading List.
- Select the Edit Details button on the bottom of the page.
- Under Sharing, choose either Member or Org.
- Select the Save button.
If the student is still not able to access the Reading List in their account, please make sure your student is signing in to the correct account. You can verify their account information on your roster:
- Log in to your Sponsor account.
- Select the My Bookshare link in the top right corner of the page.
- Select the Members link on the left side of the page.
- Your student's login information will be listed under the Username column. If they have an Individual account, their username will be marked as private.
