- Synopsis
- [From the inside book flap:] Getting into trouble is Alex's specialty. But for the first time in her life, she's trying not to. She wants to prove to her parents that she's grown-up--grown-up enough to baby-sit and make some money... to have her ears pierced. Alex also has another reason to act "responsible," as her parents refer to it--a special project for her science class. Each student has to take care of a pet over the weekend, around the clock, and write up a report. But Alex doesn't have a pet because her younger sister, Meg, is allergic to animals. So she decides to sneak over and "borrow" two cats from a snobby girl in her class. From what seems to Alex to be a small thing, chaos and trouble, trouble, trouble evolve. Before Alex knows what's happened, there are animals running loose in her house, Meg is sneezing, her parents are furious, and she's in big trouble... again. But along the way, she has learned something important: There's a lot more to growing up than she'd ever imagined. Readers will find Patricia Hermes's spunky heroine and funny action-packed story irresistible. RL 5
