- Synopsis
- Our expectations or perceptions of how things should be often get in the way of truly experiencing the way things really are. The practice introduced in this chapter is an antidote both to the sense of hopeless resignation and to the fierce resistance that can arise when we feel that our current situation is not ideal. It instructs us to be present to the way things are, including all our feelings about the situation at hand. This practice can help us clarify the next step that will take us in the direction we want to go. As the authors demonstrate, the capacity to be present to everything that is happening, without resistance, creates possibility. This chapter was originally published as Chapter 7 of "The Art of Possibility: Transforming Professional and Personal Life."
