- Synopsis
- In his earlier Somebodies and Nobodies: Overcoming the Abuse of Rank (2003), Fuller (former president, Oberlin College) described the social problem of "rankism," a form of abuse of rank analogous to racism, sexism, ageism, and so on. Here he adds more detail about the scope of rankism in society and proposes means of fighting it in pursuit of a "dignitarian society," in which rank still exists, but all are equal in dignity.
