Synopsis: Managing FDI for Development in Resource-Rich States is a timely study in light of the resurgence of resource nationalism that is currently occurring in several resource-rich, developing countries. The book examines an issue that has confounded policy makers and academics for decades: how can resource-rich, developing countries ensure that the operations of the multinational enterprise (MNE), which dominate their resource-sector, result in FDI-facilitated development? This volume moves awayfrom the traditional explanations for the disappointing economic performance of resource-rich, developing countries, notably those advanced by key researchers. It provides a unique and very credible explanation for this phenomenon. In so doing, this book makes a significant contribution to the literature.
