- Synopsis
- What makes a family? T. J. feels that he is a disappointment to his father since T. J.'s mother died years earlier. He spends most of his free time at the zoo where zookeeper Nancy Champion takes a special interest in him. Eventually, Nancy reveals to T. J. that she is his natural mother, who gave him up for adoption when he was born. When his father wants him to get a summer job, T. J. begins to baby-sit for his new found sister, keeping his employer's identity a secret. In Nancy's home he finds the family he never had. But when his father discovers the truth and forbids T. J. to see his mother, he must make a painful choice: Will he live with his natural mother or with his adoptive father?
