Pick a subject, and I think Buster covers it. The animal characters all have their own personality and input on the good things that children should know about. How to get along with others, how to respect different cultures, different beliefs and most importantly, how to act under trying and dangerous circumstances. The author has done a superb job in communicating important issues clearly and humorouslly to children. My group of children want to meet the real Buster!

I enjoyed the stories as much as my children!. The stories deal with issues about sharing, caring and pride in a way my children could understand. My favorite is the story about the crows and the lesson on prejudice. Mr. Thompson uses humor to help deal with the issue of race DIRECTLY! The story on terrorrism really helped my daughter understand "THE ISSUE" that she hears so much about, and understands so little of.This story is quite timely for the days we live in. The book should be read by everyone, the values expressed are rare in our times. The story WHO IS YOUR NEIGHBOR actually made me well up with tears. It's a great book to read WITH your children. I hope that more stories are forth-coming in this series...and what child of ANY age can resist a story who's main character is a horse!
