The kind of book that makes you want to read everything else by this author. I have now read several of her books as a result. This remains my favorite. A wonderful blending of anthropology and fiction. If life was not like this, it surely could have been. The world this book creates is believable and fascinating.

Stone Age people. Edgier than Clan of the Cave Bear. The author's knowledge ofprimitive aboriginal folk gives authenticity to her characters and their world. These are very believable people in a time outwardly very different from our own. Yetwe know them and their emotions.
