Hannah Marsh has it all: a successful husband, two wonderful children, and time to pursue her passion for gardening. But no matter how good things are, she can't shake a nagging feeling that all is not right. Then comes the call from her sister Ceel that disrupts her well-ordered life. At Ceel's instigation, Hannah's husband accepts a teaching position at a school in Asheville. It is a move that reintroduces Hannah to Daintry O'Conner, her best friend from childhood, her nemesis as an adult. Daintry is now all that Hannah is not: chic, self-assured, and married to a minister who is extremely attractive to Hannah. Seeing Daintry reopens old wounds, forcing Hannah to revisit the past and try to make sense of whether her attraction to Daintry's husband is born of love, need, or revenge.
