- Synopsis
- Davy has always been alone. He believes that he's the only person in the world who can teleport. But what if he isn't? When Davy was a young teen, he discovered that he was capable of teleportation. At first, it was only when he was terrified and in horrible danger. Davy gradually learned to use and control his powers, for sheer survival in an environment more violent and complex than he ever imagined. But mere survival was not enough for Davy. He wanted to know if there were other people like him. He needed to know if his mother disappeared so completely from his life because she, too could Jump. As he searched for a trace of anyone else with powers like his own, he learned to use his abilities for more than escape and theft. And in time, he found a woman who could share his life and his secrets. Now a mysterious group of people has taken Davy captive. They don't want to hire him, and they don't have any hope of appealing to him for help. What they want is to own him. They want to use his abilities for their own purposes, whether Davy agrees or not. And so they set about brainwashing him and conditioning him. They have even found a way to keep a teleporter captive. And yet there's something that nobody knows, not even Davy. The secret is that experiencing teleportation, over and over again, can teach a person how to do it. Davy's wife, Millie, is the only person on Earth who has teleported nearly as often as he has. On the day that Davy was kidnapped, she discovered her new talent. Trapped in their cliffside cabin, in a place that is accessible only by teleportation, she attempted to make the climb down and fell. In that moment, facing imminent death, she suddenly found herself in her own apartment. Now, if she can learn to control this ability, and fast, she may be able to rescue Davy.
