Synopsis: Pam and Penny Howard Series continues; this book follows Double Feature and precedes Double Wedding. This time Pam and Penny spend the summer taking a drama course on a showboat. Mike is there too, but Pam's friend Jeff can only visit, so she is left to wonder whether she might enjoy a relationship with the charming, dashing, wealthy Alan Richmond. Another new character is beautiful talented Geneva Day, with whom Pam finds herself feuding. Is Gen just a mean, manipulative person, or is there a deeper reason for her snobbishness and cruel behavior? Along with the plot problems and romance there is lots of interesting information on life aboard a showboat. This book should be fun for teens, and especially for those having met Pam and Penny in the first two books.
