- Synopsis
- In an early springtime, in the seccond decade of the 20th century, Waits Low becomes wrestless with the isolation of his rural life. Having lived all his young life in a southern mountain region, he wants to leave home and see the wide world. This is the story of his leavetaking, his journey, and his returning. The novel is at once lyrical, amusing, and poignant and in the end, Waits will find himself a better man for having made this journey. Readers will find themselves fullfilled and satisfied that they were able to get to know him and his people.
