Most of us never wonder how we would react if we were held hostage, let alone for six years. Ingrid Betancourt is able to answer this question in this extremely powerful book chonicling her life in captivity in the Columbian jungle. In many ways this is a difficult book to read but is well worth your time. Betancourt is one of my heroes, not because she was a hostage but because of the way she endured her captivity.
