- Synopsis
- Gledwyn Griffiths hadn't driven a car for ten years, not since the day he had run down a pedestrian. So why would Gledwyn have decided to drive a car again the night he was found dead in a fiery accident? Gledwyn's daughter, Angela Rollason, thinks her father may have been murdered, but nobody, least of all Angela's husband Phil, will believe her. Could somebody have strapped Gledwyn's body into the car and then run away? If Gledwyn had driven the car, why would he have chosen a road with a traffic signal he couldn't read? Gledwyn was color blind, and the site of the accident had a red-green signal, rather than the red-amber-green signal that color blind people can follow. Angela is determined to stay at Viewlands, her father's home, until she finds the answers, while Phil is equally determined that Angela should shut up the large house and return to London. When Phil asks Detective-Sergeant Harry Kyle to look in on Angela, he assumes that Harry will reassure Angela and send her home. But the case turns out to be more complicated than even Angela imagines.
