- Synopsis
- Here he is once more: a familiar sight by now in his floppy wide-brimmed hat, his duffle coat, and leaving in his wake that inevitable trail of marmalade to remind us all that Paddington is back. He has just returned from a visit to darkest Peru where he went to celebrate his Aunt Lucy's birthday at the Home for Retired Bears, and past experience ought to have been enough to warn the Browns that, at 32 Windsor Gardens anyway, the peacefulness of the last few weeks is now a thing of the past. Certainly, Mrs. Brown's exclamation a few days later that they haven't had "a single disaster since he came back from Peru, not one!" proves somewhat premature. For trouble, as well as marmalade, seems to follow Paddington wherever he goes, no matter how helpful he tries to be. Fortunately, his adventures come out fine at the end, though in unexpected ways.
