- Synopsis
- The annual fair at Moretonhampstead, on the edge of Dartmoor, usually attracts a motley bunch of ne'er-do-wells. The year 1835 is no different from the others in this respect, only this time, among the miscreants, are Buckingham Joe and his sidekick commonly known as Dick Turpin. They are there with only one thing in mind, to deprive the wealthier citizens of their valued possessions, and they will go to all ends to achieve their aim. The unfortunate farmer, Jonathan May, on his way home from the fair, happens to be the unlucky one as he is savagely attacked by the brutal duo. He puts up a brave fight, but to no avail.
