This was one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read for two reasons. First, it is a wonderful tribute to the people of Afghanistan, especially women. This story definitely exemplifies the resilliant spirit, and perseverence of people despite oppresion. Not only that, but it has given me a deeper respect for the Islamic culture. I think that as Americans, we forget that Afghanistan is not a country of terrorists, but rather a country rich in culture, where most people are loving people trying to take care of their families. Just like us, they long for freedom, opportunities, and peace. Everyone should read this book.
