- Synopsis
- Puck the Gnome goes from being a despised misfit to a mature, adventurous and respected member of Gnomish society. He starts by taking prankish revenge on those who look down on him and hurt others, which leads to his friendship with Din and to making an enemy of Proll and his hench-trolls. Puck and Din descend to the caves of fire where forging trolls labor, then return with presents for the King of Gnomes. After cleverly avoiding Proll's traps, Puck and Din are rewarded with royal appointments. Puck is given permission to travel up to the world of Humans, where he observes both the good and bad of families, then returns with a profound understanding of the nature of love. A great deal more gnome wisdom and mythology is presented by Din, and another Human-observing gnome discusses good and bad farming techniques.
