A conspiracy abounds. Alex travels to Japan on vacation and hooks up with a woman that looks familiar. He starts to think that this is the woman that he was supposed to find about ten years ago. He reopens the investigation, but someone is not happy about it. A series of events lead eventually to Joann rediscovering her lost past and the fact that she had been brainwashed. She and Alex travel to Switzerland to confront the man who had tampered with Joann's memory. Just as they arrive at their hotel, they are drugged and kidnapped. They awaken in the same house but on different floors. Joann fights and kills the brainwasher and she and Alex are reunited. They learn all about the Mirror Project in the Soviet Union. Finally, they return to Japan and live happily ever after.
