These stories contain twelve disturbing deaths, twelve perplexing puzzles-and twelve inimitable Wimsey solutions! "Dorothy L. Sayers has a fine sense of humor and a genius for creating the most unexpected situations." -The Spectator English spelling and lots of various kinds of dialect

Reviews
4 out of 5
By Grandma Cindy on Jan 11, 2009
As the long synopsis says, this book is a collection of 12 short detective stories starring Lord Peter Wimsey. The only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 is that some of the solutions one can guess ahead of time, and there is a lot of cockney and Scotch dialect which I find difficult to read. But the stories are fun, Lord Peter has a marvelous dry, sense of humor, and his deductive powers are excellent. This is fun, not scary, reading.
