- Synopsis
- Halt! And meet the strangest legion any man ever ran away to. Warren Peace joined the Space Legion to forget. He did that, the Legion removed all his memories. Now, he can either just live the adventurous life of a legionnaire, or try to find out what he wanted to forget. Adventure can lead to danger, and danger to death, so perhaps he should try to recover his memory. With only a blue plastic toad to guide him in his search for his past, and the forces of Lieutenant Toogood, the redoubtable Captain Hardy and worst of all, the dreaded Oscars ranged against him, Warren sets out (and is set upon by Ulphans, Aspatrians, man eating alien fungi, man eating alien trees and throw rugs that do even worse (or so Warren is told by his comrades in arms that have managed to survive). This book could be an old fashioned space opera, it could be a spoof of an alien space opera, it could be a nastily biting satire on both western civilization and space opera. It could be all those and more, it is hilarious.
