- Synopsis
- Set in Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley, this bittersweet novel blends themes of art and passion to tell the story of two people learning to let go-and reaching for their heart's desire. Tug Palifax is a New York artist who's lost his passion for his work; Alyssa Brown is a drama teacher who's lost the passion in her marriage. One summer, Tug accepts a fellowship to an artists' colony in Virginia's verdant countryside and down the road from Finally Farm, Alyssa's beloved weekend and summer retreat. Neither of them could know, however, that their weeks together would set in motion a real-life drama that would forever change their lives. As Tug begins to see the farm through Alyssa's eyes, his painting is re-energized. Meanwhile, reawakening to longings she thought had died, Alyssa faces an agonizing choice: hold on to the place that inspires her soul, or be with the man she loves.
