- Synopsis
- On a blustery October day, while cleaning out a closet at the Good Day Home for Girls, Tatty, Phoebe, Mary and Little Ann find an old brass lamp--a wishing lamp! Miss Lavender says that she ordered it from a magazine when she was a girl, and the lamp came with 101 wishes. But how many wishes are left? Miss Lavender isn't sure. Soon, the girls start wishing for all sorts of things--being taller, being invisible, even wishing someone would turn into a pumpkin! Then somebody makes a wish that causes trouble--trouble enough that it will take two wishes to undo it. But are there two wishes left--or only one? There's only one person who might know the answer--Miss Know It All! Pictures are described. Interest level ages 8 to 12. Reading level 4th grade There are more books in the Bookshare library by Carol Beach York including The Good Day Orphanage #2 The Christmas Dolls and #3 Good Charlotte.
