- Synopsis
- One Christmas Paddington announced he was taking the Brown family to Barkridges store to see Santa Claus. It's very good value," he explained. "Apart from meeting Mr. Claus, there's a sleigh ride through Winter Wonderland and you get to visit his workshop at the North Pole. We might even see where he makes his marmalade." But Santa only has gifts for boys and girls...none for bears and Paddington thinks the North Pole is Broken. He's going home disappointed, but there's still a Merry Christmas in store for Paddington Bear. You can read lots about Paddington Bear because Bookshare has at least eight more books about him.

This is a part of a series of books about Paddington a talking bear who lives with the Brown family. By today's standards, Paddington is innocent possibly naive but he represents a true spirit of helpfulness and a lot initiative. This book details Paddington's Christmas experiences. Paddington Bear decides to take the Brown family out to the Barkridges store to meet Santa Claus. The trip does not go as planned and Paddington adds his own brand of cleverness especially when he tries to help. The store gets a surprised and the manager learns a lesson or two in marketing. The book has a predictable ending with Paddington getting his favorite jar of marmalade. The book leaves the reader wanting more and I wish the ride was better described. However, the book is a delightful one and I wish there were more of these on the site. Written by Pranav Lal
