- Synopsis
- Palestine, A.D. 33, a time when Jewish life was lived under the political oppression of Roman imperialism and the spiritual oppression of religious tradition-was turned upside down by the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. All Josiah bar Godel wants to do is marry Anna and become the most celebrated artisan of his day. All Saul of Tarsus wants to do is eradicate the threat Jesus' blasphemous teachings pose to sacred Jewish law. The events of Pentecost that spring put their lives on a collision course, leading to a fatal encounter which haunts them both. Over the next thirty years their spiritual journeys conspire to bring them to a destination neither expects. -
