I, Pierre Seel, Deported Homosexual: A Memoir of Nazi Terror
- Synopsis
-
This is an English translation of the original French memoir by Pierre Seel. At age seventeen, Seel was put into a Nazi concentration camp because he was a homosexual. It wasn't until 40 years later that Seel finally spoke out about horrors experienced by homosexuals during the holocaust. This memoir documents the events witnessed and experienced by Seel during his time spent in the camps as well as his experiences as a gay rights activist more recently. Translated by award winning translator Neugroschel and with a forward by Woods (Gay and Lesbian Studies at Nottingham Trent U. ); this book appeals to those engaged in gay studies and activism as well as the general reader.
