Over the years Katherine Howard, Henry VIII’s fifth wife, has been slandered as a ‘juvenile delinquent’, ‘empty-headed wanton’ and ‘natural born tart’, who engaged in promiscuous liaisons prior to her marriage and committed adultery after.
