- Synopsis
- A dual-timeline novel set in both 1920s Dublin and present-day Dublin, following the lives of three main characters connected by a mysterious and magical bookshop. Opaline, a young woman in the 1920s, escapes an arranged marriage and finds refuge in a bookshop, while in present day, Martha, fleeing an abusive marriage, and Henry, a PhD student searching for a lost manuscript, discover the same bookshop which seems to appear and disappear. The story explores themes of love, loss, and the power of stories, with the lost bookshop itself playing a significant role in their lives and the uncovering of long-held secrets.
