- Synopsis
- Spring came late to the Bar L Ranch and this year it brought a surprise to Charlie Carter. A new family had moved into the old abandoned farm that neighbored his father’s ranch. The Peters family were dirt farmers, not cattlemen like the Carters. Before they came, livestock from the Carters' Bar L ranch had roamed free over the range. Now the ranchhands had to struggle to keep them off the Peterses' farmland. What really worried Charlie Carter was the farmer's son. Matt Peters liked to make trouble and he was all too interested in rustling a few of the Bar L steers. Then Matt took a shot at Golden Boy, Charlie's great palomino stallion, and the bitter feud between the two boys erupted. Wherever there was trouble, Matt Peters was sure to be nearby. Charlie and his friend Pedro knew it was up to them to find out why.
