- Synopsis
- This anthology collects a wide variety of pieces—short stories, novel excerpts, memoirs, and poetry —by English-language writers living and working in Mexico in the first decade of the 21st century. Arranged alphabetically, pieces include Wim Coleman's poem, "For Monserrat, April 1, 2022," written for his adopted daughter; Joseph Dispenza's memoir excerpt, "The Monk's Tale"; "The New Studio," a short story by Edward Gutierrez; an excerpt from Eva Hunter's memoir, "A Little Mormon Girl" and Deborah Kent Stein's memoir, "Saying Goodbye to Miss Spetgang." Many of the pieces take place in San Miguel de Allende and reflect the expatriate experience. Others range in locale from Belize to Australia and everywhere in between.
